Company La Florens, during its long life, has succeeded in distinguish itself inside the panorama of the international fashion market thanks to the excellent manufacturing competences granted to the most famous and representative Italian brands. Galluzzo’s family gave birth in the fifties to this company, near the city of Florence, in Campi Bisenzio, as manufacturer of all kind of leather products.
Paolo was both the pilot and the engine of the Firm. Around the mid of the Sixties, the moment in which the Firm reaches an appreciable stability in the market of affiliation, he began to develop the department of the leather garments, creating immediately a dedicate section with specialized personnel to create the styles from the patterns. Soon the segment of the clothing, in leather and fabric, became fundamental for the company business, and strategic for the incoming years when the production is principally addressed to Private Labels and to the export. The main clients of that Golden Age are Americans and the Firm serves for a long time important clients such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf & Goodmann, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Barney's.
Among 1976 and 1978 the two oldest sons of Paolo, Enzo and Enrico, make their entrance in the Company. The new generation starts the development of the first inner collection branded Florens, aiming to penetrate the market of the biggest fashion shops. The strategy is clear and the investments are important since the very beginning, nevertheless the first true business success in an international level, comes in 1984 when the first Harry & Moore collection, a line of anglo-american taste, comes out.
Thanks to this new brand, La Florens succeeds in giving a turn to the stagnant market of the leather fashion, renewing the product in a drastic way facing all the proposals of that historical moment. It’s an important crossroad, not only for the growth of the business, which permits an internal reorganization of all the offices, but above all, for the awareness of the importance of the product research. Since that moment and still today, the style department of La Florens is the most important driving force of the Company.
From the Nineties, at least the seventy percent of the materials used for the different business collections - Florens, Harry & Moore, Whitcomb, Lee Trevor, Brogden, Liven – are the result of the research internally developed or outside in exclusivity with tanneries or chemical labs linked to the Company. This procedure allows us to satisfy the most complex requests of the designers and it gives a stable range of innovation in the proposal. Such continuous study offers great quantitative and qualitative results in the relationships with the most demanding clients of Private Label, which represents by now the biggest part of the Company business. These clients are international griffes, with the most high-level distribution. La Florens has the honour to be appreciated supplier of brands as Giorgio Armani, Etro, Iceberg, Tod's, Fay, Hogan, Jean Paul Gauthier, Emporio Armani, Armani Collezioni, Armani Jeans, Armani Junior, Diesel, Max Mara, Guess, Dekker, Scotch & Soda, La Martina, Pinko, Just Cavalli just to mention some among the most known.
The strategic and decisive year, in the most recent history of the Firm, is 1995. It’s in this year that the productive branch of Casablanca (Morocco) opens its doors. The experience lasts almost fifteen years and confers to the Firm the ability to install manufacturing branches on foreign territories with a certain level of quality. After 10 years from this first opening branch, in 2005, La Florens sees the opening of the direct branch in Haining (China) called La Florens Far East, and, in 2007, in Chennay (India) called La Florens India with Italian management. Besides the branch managers, also the technical control is carried on by Italian personnel, instructing the native employees to maintain the maximum level of production quality. Particularly, the Indian productive facility shortly becomes aspired by the most important clients for the exceptional ratio between prices and quality products.
Made in Italy production, never abandoned by La Florens, is realized from internal and external laboratories directed and daily checked by technicians and quality managers. Made in Italy constitutes around the thirty percent of the manufacturing. In over half century of activity, the productive quality, which maintain its handicraft peculiarities, has been consolidated and is reliable to build up precious products. From 2005 the Italian productive structure has also been equipped of a treatments department with an inner laundry. The headquarter of Campi Bisenzio, directional heart of La Florens, has been widened many times among the Eighties and the Nineties from the already existing structure built in the Sixties. In these modern and functional spaces operate the direction, administration, production, commercial, technical, pattern and style, control and treatment offices.
La Florens is a florentine Firm with an Italian handicraft tradition and a multinational organization. The conviction of the owners is that the actual business organization is the only practicable option to hold up the challenge with the times.
